Investing in your training and education can be a difficult decision. Here are a few Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) regarding our program.

Do you offer the "Master Personal Trainer" or the "Elite Personal Trainer"?
According to the Australian National Training Package, there is no such qualification as a "Master Personal Trainer" nor an "Elite Personal Trainer"; at this time the only qualification you need to be work as a personal trainer in Australia is to complete a minimum of the Certificate IV in Fitness (Personal Trainer) and be registered with Fitness Australia or Kinect Australia. Some Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) will brand their courses a particular way but the AQF recognised qualification is standard throughout Australia.

Some of your courses are more expensive than the competitors. Why?
The WISE Academy has some of the best instructors in Canberra - many of them being award-winning. Additionally, as our courses are mainly face-to-face, we feel the quality increases. Simply - you get what you pay for.

Do you offer the Certificate III and Certificate IV in Fitness as a combined course?
It depends on your previous experience. Normally we do not offer it as a complete package for we want you to contribute with case studies from your gym/fitness centre work experience and training so that you have the experience to build upon when you take the Personal Training course. Our industry partners have found that to be a more thorough delivery and that the students graduate with a better understanding of what is needed as a personal trainer.

Do you offer work experience as part of the program?
Yes. The WISE Academy has strong relationships with award-winning centres and personal trainers throughout Canberra and in Austin, Texas. All of our centres must meet our facility and business audit / criteria. In Canberra, we work with Succeed Personal Development, Southern Cross Health Club, Edge Health Club, Alive Health and Fitness Studio, Fernwood Health Clubs, the YMCA of Canberra, and mpowerdome to name a few. All of these centres are committed to assisting in delivering the best experience to WISE students in efforts to have a successful career in the sport, fitness and recreation industry. To date, over 90% of our students who took part in work experience have entered into paid work with our partnering agencies.

Do you offer distance education?
We have not yet set up our distance education track. We will also be very particular in which courses we offer online or in a distance education format.
